This August, Ahti Interiors unveils VIDAR, an exclusive collection by acclaimed architectural designer ALEXIS Dornier at JIA CURATED 2026. Presented from 13–17 August at Pengembak Beach, Sanur, the exhibition brings together architecture, craftsmanship, art, and sensory design in an immersive installation that celebrates the beauty of everyday ritual.
A Collection Shaped by Craftsmanship
VIDAR is rooted in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, exploring the relationship between precision manufacturing and the human hand. Every component is engineered with meticulous precision, while each control dial is individually hand-hammered by skilled artisans, ensuring every piece possesses its own unique character.
The result is a collection where industrial innovation and traditional craftsmanship coexist—expressing both technical excellence and the authenticity of the maker's hand.
The Loom: An Architectural Installation
The VIDAR collection is presented within The Loom, an open bamboo-and-jute pavilion envisioned by Alexis Dornier. Rather than functioning as a conventional exhibition booth, the pavilion becomes an architectural framework that allows the collection to exist in dialogue with its surroundings.
Inspired by the form of a traditional loom and the coastal landscape of Pengembak Beach, the installation features a bamboo framework, woven shading, filtered light, and an open spatial rhythm. Bamboo and natural fibre surfaces express a connection to craftsmanship and temporary architecture, while the structure remains open to the movement of air, the changing coastal light, and the shifting texture of the sand.
Within this setting, the VIDAR collection is presented alongside the sculptural works of Maverick Lee. The interplay of woven materials, handcrafted metal finishes, and contemporary sculpture creates an immersive environment where architecture, design, and art are experienced as one.
The concept of weaving extends beyond the pavilion itself. It becomes a metaphor for collaboration, bringing together Ahti Interiors, Alexis Dornier, Maverick Lee Studio, and Utama Spice. From bathroom fittings and architecture to sculpture and natural wellness, each practice contributes its own perspective to a shared spatial narrative—one that celebrates craftsmanship, materiality, and the human touch.

Completing the installation is a sensory journey curated with Utama Spice. Integrated throughout the space, carefully selected botanical fragrances enrich the atmosphere, adding another layer to the visitor experience.
